On Thursday, July 15, Shape Corp. held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new Aluminum Center of Excellence in Trenton, Ohio. This week, the Shape training department led a special, hands-on training session at 1825i for the U.S. Division’s summer interns. Jarrod Chyrowski, technical trainer, led 12 interns in technical lessons in the areas of mig welding, tig welding, cutting torches and hilo training. Each lesson started with 3 hours of classroom instruction followed by real-world practice out on the shop floor. By going the extra mile in training, Shape’s hope is the interns will have a better understanding of the people and equipment that they will be writing policies and designing equipment for. Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, is an American holiday celebrated annually on June 19 to commemorate the end of slavery. Shape Czech is celebrating an important anniversary–10 years since the establishment of the Pilsen plant. “It is hard to believe that 10 years ago there was only a hand full of our team members working in one little office with an empty shop floor and an empty parking lot,” reflects Shape President and CEO, Mark White. “But, since day one, we have worked on making this company great and we have continued to do so every day since.” Currently the location has 450 associates and counting.
