Shape Corp. a global tier-one automotive supplier is strengthening its leadership team by bringing on Ed Pleet as Shape’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO). With more than 24 years of dynamic engineering and leadership experience within the industry, this new addition to the Shape Family will bring a wealth of experience and innovation to Shape.

Pleet will oversee Shape’s global engineering functions, including advanced product development. His focus will be on advancing the company’s technology in crash management solutions and strengthening Shape’s global position in engineering through innovative product design and manufacturing.

With his previous work at Ford Motor Company, highlights of Pleet’s contributions include the development and evolution of Ford’s signature line, body exterior integration and key in the delivery of various BIW structures that included the most advanced high strength steels, complex aluminum extrusions, and advanced roll formed designs. Pleet has also been involved with a variety of other key projects within Ford including the establishment of an in-dash vehicle internet device, the Ford Applink, Emergency Assistance in India, a mechanical cable lock system, and the Mustang Mach-E innovative handle design.
